Research

(Notable Projects and Achievement)

Completed Projects:

·       Development of Sustainable Energy Management Framework for TNB Distribution Office and TNB Retail (Seed Fund)

This project successfully formulated a SEM framework for TNB Distribution Office and TNB Retail to promote building energy efficiency. The project also involved a detailed energy audit and recommendations for energy conservation measures.

·       Video Analytics Development for Smart Energy Management System, TNB Engineering Corporation Sdn Bhd

·       Energy audit for Mesiniaga Tower in collaboration with Tradewinds Facilities Management Sdn. Bhd.

This involved evaluation of the building's energy consumption, identification of areas for improvement, and recommendations to enhance energy efficiency, reduce costs, and promote sustainability.

·       Development of an energy benchmarking calculator for government hospitals in Malaysia (collaboration with UiTM, IEN, EPHASE and Ministry of Health)

This energy benchmarking calculator can be used by government hospitals to track their energy use and identify areas where energy can be saved. This eneabled government hospitals in Malaysia to save energy and reduce their operating costs.

·       Development of guidelines for energy efficiency applications and management systems (collaboration with UiTM, SIRIM, UNIDO, and Suruhanjaya Tenaga).
The guidelines will be used as references for better practice in Malaysia, helping to improve the energy efficiency of buildings and organizations across the country.

·       Developed teaching course on energy efficiency and energy management for UNITEN’s Master of Energy Management programme (EMSM613) and the engineering undergraduate programmes (EPPB4073).

·       Recipient of energy efficiency and conservation training equipment from Energy Commission-UNIDO.

The equipment is used to conduct training on compressed air, fan, pump, and steam systems optimization for industry.

·       Smart Switch for Energy Consumption Monitoring with IoT

Ongoing Projects:

·       Development of Energy Management and Auditing Training Modules (UNITEN R&D Sdn. Bhd.)
