Pre-Arrival

Settle In


Please report to the UNITEN International Office counter 7 at UNITEN Customer Centre (UCC) on the next working day (Monday-Friday, Closed on Public Holiday) after your arrival for us to arrange a post-medical check-up, briefing and passport submission.

What to do when you arrive at the International Office:

  1. Inform the International Office that you are a new student
  2. Ask for a post-arrival medical checkup form and registration process.
  3. Ask about your Student ID

DO NOT make any travel arrangements during the endorsement process until you receive your passport.

Post Medical Screening


In accordance with EMGS (Education Malaysia Global Services) requirement, all new international students are required to undergo the post-arrival medical screening at a registered EMGS clinic within seven (7) days of arriving in Malaysia. You can find a list of panel clinics here.  

  • For the medical screening, the required documents are as follows:
    • Health Screening Form
    • Passport

The result will be ready after 3 working days. If the result is “Pass”, you can proceed with passport submission at the International Office Counter for Student Pass endorsement

 

 

Registration


For registration, kindly provide the documents as listed below and send them in one email to all email addresses below:

Here is the list of documents:

  • Copy of EMGS Approval letter/ EVAL 
  • Offer letter 
  • Copy of Airport Special pass stamp/ E-VISA/SEV/VOA 
  • VAL Supported conditional (Provide any English competency test result eg: Linguaskill (by Sasbadi Centre)/ IELTS/ MUET/ TOEFL (IBT), ELS etc). If NO English certificate or English competency does not meet requirement – proceed to Intensive English Programme (IEP) 
  • Proof of payment – Registration Fee & Advance Fee

  • Student's Name
  • Student's Email Address
  • Student's Phone No (Available for Whatsapp)
  • Student's Passport No

Student will receive a reply email from Norains@uniten.edu.my to complete the registration.

Passport Submission


Passport submission can be done once the EMGS application reach 80%.

The student visa endorsement process typically takes around one (1) month, depending on the volume of passports submitted to EMGS by higher education institutions across Malaysia.

DO NOT purchase any flight ticket before you receive your passport.

Your passport may not be ready before your intended travel date. Purchasing a flight ticket in advance may require you to reschedule your flight or purchase a new ticket, which could result in additional costs.

Please wait until you have received your passport before making any flight arrangements.

Once your visa has been issued, an International Office representative will collect your passport from EMGS. You will then receive an email notification informing you that your passport is ready for collection.

Passports can only be collected by the respective student. Representatives, family members, friends, or other third parties are STRICTLY NOT PERMITTED to collect passports on the student's behalf. Students must collect their passports in person from the International Office.

Opening Bank Account


You can only open your bank account once your student visa is completed. You will need to provide 4 documents which is:

  • EMGS Bank Letter (Can get from International Office Counter 7)
  • UNITEN Bank Letter (From e-document in student info)
  • Confirmation Letter (From e-document in student info)
  • Student's Passport
